The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Annual Convention and World Languages Expo brings together thousands of teachers, administrators, method instructors and students of foreign languages at all levels from across the world. The convention features over 600 educational sessions on such topics areas as: Assessment, Culture, Curriculum, Literature, Methods/Techniques, Advocacy and Policy Issues, Professional Development, Research, Specific Purposes, Standards and Technology.
Pre-Convention workshops take place on November 15, 2012.
DR. K. DAVID HARRISON TO SERVE AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER
ACTFL is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for the 2012 ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo will be Dr. K. David Harrison. Dr. Harrison is currently serving as a professor of linguistics at Swarthmore College and has completed extensive research on language extinction. He also co-founded and serves as Director of Research for the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages, a non-profit foundation that strives to advocate for the documentation, preservation, and revitalization of endangered languages.
