The Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (SASBO) will hold a Bookkeepers training in Tennessee called the “Power of Connections.” This training session will be conducted by Roger Underwood, Past President of both SASBO and TASBO. Roger has been supervising Student Activity Accounting for more than 30 years for Knox County Schools in Knoxville, TN. During that time he has conducted yearly training sessions for bookkeepers in Knox County. He has also conducted training sessions in West Tennessee and other East Tennessee districts.
Topics for this training session will include:
- Basic Education Program expenditures
- Accounting for fundraising activities including car washes, rummages sales and carnivals
- Illegal use of games of chance and raffles
- Homecoming activities
- Sales tax
- Credit Cards
- Booster/Support Organizations
- Annual audit
- Bank Reconciliation
- Difference between school fees and fines
